I practice internal medicine. Doctors of internal medicine focus on adult medicine and have had special training focusing on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases. At least three of our seven or more years of medical school and postgraduate training are dedicated to learning how to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases that affect adults. I diagnose and treat many acute and chronic medical conditions, including disorders of the heart, lungs, kidneys, gastrointestinal system, and skin, as well as infectious diseases and autoimmune diseases. I offer preventive care, including immunizations, PAP smears, and physical exams. I do minor office procedures, including liquid nitrogen, removal of skin lesions, and incision and drainage of wounds..

I currently provide blood drawing services. Some blood tests, including urinalysis, and HbA1C’s are measured in-house. I can thereby provide you with rapid feedback on those results. Other blood and urine tests are sent to Highline Medical Center for analysis.

I am also an Endocrinologist. Endocrinology is a sub-specialty within the field of internal medicine. Endocrinologists diagnose and treat diseases associated with internal glandular secretions or hormones. Included in this field are diseases of blood sugar control (diabetes and hypoglycemia), the thyroid gland, hypertension, osteoporosis, the adrenal and pituitary glands, and hormonal disorders causing infertility, short stature or lack of development. I manage diabetic patients on insulin pumps, and I work with insulin pump educators who help with pump management. I also manage patients who use continuous glucose monitoring systems in conjunction with the pump. In addition, I offer continuous glucose monitoring (CGMS) for up to one week as a diagnostic aid to diabetes management. I perform fine needle aspiration of thyroid nodules in the office. I am licensed to administer radioactive iodine (I-131) for the treatment of thyroid cancer and hyperthyroidism.
